Voting Question: airlink 101 AR430W help?

I bought an airlink device -the model is AR430W- thinking this was a wireless router (well, that's what reads on the box), but when I tried to install it I couldn't figure it out, this device unlike the other wireless routers i've ever touched doesn't have a Wan port, on the back it only has one Lan port, the antenna and the power cable jack. I'm trying to install this for my desktop computer, can anyone help me? thank you  more

Voting Question: Linux drivers-conflict help?

I purchased an Airlink 802.11g Wireless LAN CardBus PC Card with the FCC ID of MQ4WG2K4 to use with my Dell Latitude CPx J650GT. Both the laptop and card are used. The laptop had no OS on it, so I installed Ubuntu Linux. When I plug in the wifi card, the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock lights flash steadily and I can't use my keyboard or touchpad. I tried using external input devices (keyboard, mice). They also face the same issue. I booted into a LiveCD version of Knoppix and Dyne:bolic, to face the same issue. I have also tried using both of the expansion bays. This computer has no ethernet jack, so I am typing this on my Windows machine. I am a fairly new user to Linux and am loving every moment of it except this wifi issue. -Laptop Specs- 650 mhz PIII CPU 256 mb RAM Integrated Audio and Video Ubuntu Linux OS 18 gb HDD 24x CDrom 2 side expansion bays (wifi card, usb card, etc...) Stock MB with BIOS revision A13 When the wifi card isn't connected, the computer works perfectly. I know a more than average amount about computers and am still learning. I appreciate any help. If any more information is needed, please let me know. When I say connected, I mean inserted into the slot. I do not know if I can get internet with it. I believe the chipset of the card is MQ4WG2K4 because doing a Google search for that returns different models of wifi cards with the same looks as mine, though not same brand. I did not install a driver manually, as I bought it used. I plug the card in, open connection settings(which only shows wireless when the card is connected) and about 7 seconds after the card is connected, my touchpad and keyboard stop working. I believe that Ubuntu installed the driver, but it conflicts with the driver that controls keyboards and mice. -Terminal results- 00:00.0 Host bridge:Intel Corporation 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX Host Bridge (rev 03) 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX AGP Bridge (rev 03) 00:03.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCI1225 (rev 01) 00:03.1 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCI1225 (rev 01) -Continued- 00:07:0 Bridge: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ISA (rev 02) 00:07.1 IDE Interface: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 IDE (rev 01) 00:07.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB (rev 01) 00:07.3 Bridge: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI (rev 03) 00:08.0 Multimedia Audio Controller: ESS Technology ES1983S Maestro-3i PCI Audio Accelerator (rev 10) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage Mobility P/M AGP 2x (rev 64) 02:00.0 Network controller: Texas Instruments ACX 111 54Mbps Wireless Interface I opened terminal, typed in lspci (didn't press enter), inserted the card, and pressed enter before keyboard stopped working. I left the laptop open next to my desktop (Windows) and typed the terminal results here. Thanks for the help. Let me know if anything else is needed.  more

Resolved Question: My wireless Adapter won't stay connected, plz help.?

I have a Airlink 101 300n wireless pc adapter I sometimes am able to get the adapter connected and it stay connected for a short while, during that time the signal is strong liike it always is. But then it suddenly drops out and it is hard to get it back each time. This is the first time this has happened. I caused it to happen somehow by reconfiguring my network to LAN(config with a network cord) and then I tried to set it back to WireLess (config without a cord). I've unstalled the device and reinstalled it with the software given in the box but it still won't work. Other computers on the network can connect wirelessly but ever since I switched back and forth I have been un able to get connected properly. Can anyone offer any advice.  more
